Buust for OXID eShop — product videos in the shop automatically

The Buust module for OXID attaches every rendered product video to the right item description automatically. You upload it via FTP (or Composer) into the shop, call the install script once and activate the module in the OXID admin — after that everything runs automatically.

Drop-in or Composer

Either via FTP into the shop directory or as an official oxideshop-module via Composer. Both paths are supported.

Multi-language

OXID languages are organised as columns (OXLONGDESC, OXLONGDESC_1, …). Buust writes into the chosen language; uninstall cleans every language variant.

Clean on uninstall

The web uninstaller cleans every marker block from oxartextends and drops the plugin tables. No ghost HTML in the shop.

Connected in four steps

Set up in Buust
In the Buust dashboard click "Connect OXID". You get a connection number and an access key.

Upload the module via FTP
Unzip and upload the buust/buustconnector/ folder via FTP into <shop-root>/source/modules/. (Alternatively: composer require buust/oxid-connector.)

Call the install script
Open https://<shop>/source/modules/buust/buustconnector/install.php in the browser. The script creates the plugin tables and gives you the dashboard URL with a cron token.

Activate in the OXID admin & set up the cron
OXID admin → Extensions → Modules → "Buust Connector" → Activate. Open the dashboard URL, paste your credentials, have system cron call the cron URL every 5 minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Which OXID version is supported?›

OXID eShop 6.0 or newer (tested against 6.5). The older 5.x line is not supported — completely different module system.

Do I need Composer access?›

No. The recommended path for v0.1 is drop-in via FTP plus a one-time call of install.php in the browser. Composer install also works if your setup allows it.

Where does the video appear?›

Directly in the item long description (oxartextends.OXLONGDESC) as an HTML5 video player. Works with every standard theme of OXID 6.

What about multi-language shops?›

You pick the default language ID (0 = primary shop language) on the plugin dashboard. The video is written into the corresponding column (OXLONGDESC_<id>). The uninstaller cleans every language column automatically.

Why no OXID settings in the admin?›

OXID encrypts module settings in oxconfig — unnecessary complexity for our v0.1. Instead, configuration runs through our own dashboard (token-gated, HTTPS only). v0.2 will mirror the settings into the OXID admin too.
