Native videos vs third-party embedding
Since Online Store 2.0, Shopify supports native MP4 videos in the media slot. Upside: no external loading delay, no third-party GDPR concern, no YouTube branding on your product page. Downside: you have to host the file yourself and assign it per product manually.
The Buust app pushes every video straight into the Shopify media slot via the Admin API — the file lands in your Shopify storage, is embedded natively, and needs no external hosting.
Step 1 — Connect Buust to Shopify
Install “Buust” from the Shopify App Store. During installation you decide whether to pay via Shopify Billing or Stripe — both are treated the same. After installation all active products are automatically visible in Buust.
Step 2 — Choose a template
Buust offers 15 marketplace-optimised templates. For Shopify stores we recommend “Studio Spot” or “Dynamic Reel” — both make good use of product backgrounds and accept product images with a transparent background.
If you serve several verticals (e.g. furniture and fashion), you can assign a different template per product using a tag rule — automatically in the auto-pipeline.
Step 3 — Start a bulk render
In the approval grid you mark 10, 50 or 200 products and click “Render”. About 60 seconds of render time per video. You can leave the grid open and keep working in parallel — a push notification lets you know as soon as all the videos are done.
Step 4 — Auto-publishing in Shopify
After you approve them in the approval grid, Buust pushes the video automatically into the media slot of each product. In the storefront it appears in the gallery slider — right next to the images, no pop-up, no external hosting.
Auto-pipeline: every new product → video
From Pro: a Shopify webhook notifies Buust as soon as a new product is created in the store. Buust renders a video within minutes and publishes it automatically — you don’t have to lift a finger.
